Welcome to CONNECT on Smooth 98.1. Today, I want to share on the three things that will move young people everywhere from where they are, to where they want to be. Now, you cannot discount the truth that once your thinking is wrong, your belief can not be right. When your belief is wrong, your attitude cannot be right therefore. Your attitude determines the results that come into your life. Your thinking is going to promote you or is going to keep you stagnant. Whichever way, stagnation and retrogression have the same effect, and so there must be an understanding of your posture and positioning of what you contain or represent per time. This means, there are ways to do things. I mean, you cannot swim on your own terms. If you insist on swimming on your terms disregarding the rules, you will have your way but you will drown. Young people especially find it very difficult to shift position or views as needful. They forget that there’s always a distraction that comes with custom. What is most important is for you to always appraise the experiences of your past and be sure that only the things that fit; only the prerequisites of tomorrow go with you into the future.
The first of these three things will be: SELF-DISCIPLINE. Self-discipline is the gift of God to humanity; and it works through the human will—that intangible quality of the human spirit that cannot be broken or defeated. When you are self-disciplined, you say no to the have-it-your-way mentality and realize that instant gratification may create a short-term happiness; but in the long run will lead to disappointment and failure. Those who understand this know that to have the success, money, and happiness they desire, they must set goals and be motivated to see those goals through to the end. Setting long-term goals help form a mindset that can be the base of all other decisions. They create a daily to-do list that helps them to reach a milestone of their lifetime goal.
The second thing that will take you from where you are to where you want to be is access to the RIGHT COACH: With the right coach or mentor, you can expect to experience fresh perspectives on personal challenges and opportunities, enhanced thinking and decision making skills, enhanced interpersonal effectiveness, and increased confidence in carrying out chosen work and life roles. Having a qualified life coach is one of the 23 things you must know, do and sustain before you are 20yrs old. It’s critical you invest the efforts to learn how to connect with one.
And the third thing is: TIME. By time I mean engaging time in its 3D model. When you engage time 3D, it means (1) using time effectively daily, (2) it means valuing the place of seasons in your life—the truth that seasons go and seasons come and that there’s time for everything including that your time will come, and (3) it means allowing contentment and patience in your life every time. Never forget, each of us is TIME, DISCIPLINE and the RIGHT COACH away from our next level of relevance, all of us.
